Nyssa and Alex are a brother/sister duo that plays acoustic pop and French music in their own unique style. Their influences include Ed Sheeran and Gabrielle Aplin.
Nyssa (19) plays guitar, violin and sings melody and her brother Alex (17) plays cello and sings harmony. They started playing professionally in 2013 after winning a busking competition in Moss Vale for $1000. They play regularly at weddings, restaurants, festivals and markets. They have their CD ‘Nyssa and Alex’ Joie de Vivre available at Markets and on iTunes.
They have made lots of achievements in the last few years. They have played live for ABC radio. Reached over one million views on YouTube. Sung the National Anthem for a final of beach soccer (Australia versus Thailand) in Wollongong filmed by SBS. Last year Nyssa's French cover of ‘Andalouse’ by Kendji reached over one million views and various producers quickly contacted her to participate in ‘The Voice’ in France. The French pop star Tal also tweeted about one of their covers and Nyssa and Alex have now reached a large following in France.
They recently played at the exclusive wedding for Sam Burgess in Bowral and Australia Day in Wollongong.
The duo are in high demand and have played at various venues including Biota, Milton Park, E2 Events for Eschalot, Mountain Ridge Winery, Summerlees Sutton Forest, Bendooley Estate, Mali Brae farm, Centennial Vineyards and Bowral, Kiama and Wollongong markets.
